Hey, today I am here to help you with the WhatsApp privacy and security. people these days are focusing on the WhatsApp for messaging and many people have lost or got hacked by hackers. So, here are some tips to do to make your WhatsApp account more secure and private.
Two-step verification the first priority.
One of the most indulgent steps to guard your WhatsApp account is just to enable two-step verification and relax. A supplementary layer of security through 2-step will help you get an instant warning if anyone tries to get into your account.
To apply the two-step verification, open in-app Settings. Then go to Account option and then tap on the two-step verification option. Note that you need to provide an email address that will be used later to recover a six-digit PIN code when you are in difficulty.
If you receive an email to disable two-step verification but didn’t request this, don’t click on the link. Someone could be attempting to verify your phone number on WhatsApp so be careful.
When the phone is lost, stolen or damaged fully.
Most of the internet companies including Google, Apple, and Facebook allow you to incapacitate unrecognized devices or remotely reset the connected device. For WhatsApp, you have two options.
Once you get your new SIM number, re-enter your number and verify on a new device. The WhatsApp app on the older phone will be automatically reset since instant messenger works on one device at a time, for now.
The next choice is to email WhatsApp itself with “Please deactivate my account.” Make sure you provide your correct phone number (also include international format while giving your phone no).
Report to WhatsApp.
If you’re experiencing messages from an untold number you can just block the number and even report it to WhatsApp. To report a WhatsApp number follow these steps
- Click on the sender name and scroll down to spot “Report Contact”
- WhatsApp’s Group users can also change the settings to stop anyone from adding you to any groups without your approval.
Hide last seen.
Your WhatsApp privacy settings permit any user to view your “last seen” status. To change this, go to “Settings,” click “Account” > “Privacy” > “Last Seen.” Here, you can pinch your settings so only your contacts can see when you were last using the app so that no one can know the fact but doing this will affect last seen from any part.
